I’ll start: wasted potential.
With my 50+ hours in the game, I can confidently say that while I still consider it to be quite awful, it had the potential to be among the best pokemon games ever. The foundations for a 9/10 game are there, there are so many cool ideas and concepts… but sadly, they’re just not well developed, or not developed at all. I’m sure that, if GameFreak didn’t also have to work on Legends Arceus and got more resources and especially time to dedicate to SV, it could’ve genuinely been amazing. The Area Zero proves such thing, that part of SV is in my opinion some of the greatest pokemon content we’ve ever gotten, dare I say up there with BW and BW2… such a shame it was too short.
I hope that someday we’ll see a third version of these games that expands them, fixes all the issues, rewrites it a little bit and maybe adds a bit of story. If done right, it could turn out to be amazing.
