If Gen 10 didn’t have badges or trials, what would you want the goal of the game to be?

Have you ever thought about another possible game goal for a Pokemon game before? What would an island based game do if not badges or trials?

Solely Pokédex completion? Primarily contest coordinator?

Perhaps the goal of the game could to not only gather Pokédex entries but gather other types of information too. Like what they like to eat, their habitats, logging learnsets by getting them naturally. All this to be the goal of becoming the regions professor.

What do you think? Any ideas?
