It’s dang surprising that Pokemon Adventures is still kodomomuke

Pokespe is ran in Monthly CoroCoro Comic. It's officially a kodomomuke manga: a manga aimed at 5-12 year olds.

Despite this, it's regularly mistaken for a shonen manga aimed at 8-16 year old boys. It's not. It has violence, dark themes, and fanservice, but it's still not a shonen.

Pokemon tried to make a shonen manga: Pokemon Reburst. It bombed. It lasted only one year and didn't even get any localizations. Shonen Sunday even deleted the page for it after it ended.

I'll be honest, I doubt the main audience for Pokespe is even kids these days. It's been airing for near 30 years now with multiple concurrent arcs that span years after the games they market even stop airing.

Judging by some of the stuff even in newer chapters, it feels like TPC barely moderates Pokespe. From what I've heard, Shogakukan is in charge of most of it.
