



So, the concept that some people in the world of Pokémon are psychics is nothing new, starting all the way back in Generation 1 with Sabrina, and most recently being Tulip in Generation 9 (or if you don't count her, Avery with his floating pokeball)
Of course, for story and gameplay reasons, they are mostly secondary side characters (being relegated to just Gym leaders or Elite Four) and 1 rival,
so wanted to play a little bit with the concept
So the region this game takes place in would be the region that has the most psychics in the world (of course, just like in anime there is a big difference in ability and skills between them). Since so many are psychics, there are no rules against using your abilities in here, unlike in other regions
With the player being a battle prodigy but lacking in utility
The combat aspects are split into two
Stances that are a countines effect, this is mainly to copy existing abilities of Pokémon (with some custom stuff like increasing capture rate and Shiny encounter also), the abilities they can copy are limited to only abilities that at least 10 Pokémon have innate (hidden abilities do not count for this), a Stance will be broken if the Player uses their power to replicate a move (and you can only set stance outside of battle)
Mind influence, the player can copy the effect of certain moves, these being moves that lower/increase the opponent's stats, but it will take 1 extra turn before the move effect goes in (except when it is used to break a stance, which results in that move being this turn) just before the pokemon moves does, also any effect the move has triggers also such as Belly drum dealing half life
ex belly drum, calm mind, Fake tears
also there are certain mind influences that deal damage, but those are quite small and only used when you are desperate or grinding stronger Pokémon with lower level pokemon
They scale to the player's own psychic ability (wich progress trough the game just like badges do in other games) and unlock more as the game progresses, some trough main story and some through side quests.
Certain mind influences and stances are locked behind psychic ability
Outside of battle, it replaces HM

PS, in the case of the endgame Super boss, which existing Psychic trainer would you want to have the title of strongest psychics before the player takes it in a tough battle
