There are probably countless posts like this but I am a proud father and had to put this one out there. I (39M) just started playing in August 2025 when my oldest (6M) started to get into Pokemon. It turned into a family hobby quickly and now my wife and our 4 year old are playing regularly too. We were just playing on the 2 parent accounts for a while since I refused to get a 6 year old his own phone but he was really picking up the game and I liked the interactive family time so I set up one of my old devices and tethered it to my phone over the Christmas break so he can join in on the fun with his own account. Dec 30 was his first day playing on his own and he has been doing great!
Fastforward to today, we were going to be driving for a few hours so I let the boy play for a bit. He gasps and says "this looks so cool!" and hold his phone so I could see it in the mirror. The little turd found found and caught a wild Shiny Galarian Articuno!
I am a little jealous since I haven't seen any Galarian birds yet but I am super excited for the little man! He immediately made it his buddy and has been talking about it non-stop.
