Shiny rate seems to be worse than 1/10? Or I could just be terribly unlucky
55 raids done, 5 ran, no hundos. honestly just wondering if this is a shared experience or if everyone is getting the intended shiny rate

1/10 CHANCE does not mean you get one shiny after 10 raids. The quote of 10% is met the more raids are done, which means (for example), you do 100 raids and get no shiny, and then do five raids and get five shinies back to back.
You got unlucky, thats it.

I appreciate posts like this because on the one hand Niantic has messed up before and it brings attention to the case. And on the other hand a lot of other people can share their rate like here. Looks like you got unlucky but the rate is indeed 1/10 or at least increased.

55 raids with no shiny is a 0.3% chance for 1/10 odds. It’s rough but lots of people will have this luck. There are 394 redditors live in this sub when I made this comment, so one person is expected to have this result. That was you!

The odds of the shiny doesn’t change with the more raids you do.
The probability of getting shiny by doing more raids does. Very unlucky.

Might just be bad luck unfortunately. I had the same thing on mega kangaskhan raid day. Took me 65 raids to get the shiny.

I don’t think it’s one in ten for the whole even. I thinks a roll of the dice every time. Like each raid there’s a 10% chance, not total raids.

I did seven raids and got two shiny kyurem on one account and none on the other. I also got one shiny and one non-shiny reshiram.

If the rate is indeed 1/10, then about 0.5% of players will still be shiny-less after 50 raids. Definitely bad luck, but not unrealistic by any stretch.

Did 20 Remote raids (stuck at Home due to snow), 3 ran away, but I got 2 shinies and missed the 1000 energy for White Kyurum by 30 😭😭😭😭

That was me in 2024. Did 200+ raids during the go weekend, and no shiny kyurem. Had to lucky trade for mine. Then I got my first actual raid shiny late last year.
Did 13 remotes last night, and got 2 good shinies. IDK how much you spend in the game, but I still think it’s pay to win.
