If you’re unfamiliar, Smack Down has been datamined in Pokemon GO! All we know about the attack right now is that it’s going to be a Rock-type fast move. Using that information, I decided to simulate several different types of Rock-type fast moves on Tyranitar and Rhydon to see how Smack Down could let them creep on Golem and Omastar as Rock-type attackers. The results suggest that Tyranitar would most likely usurp Golem as the best Rock-type Pokemon but that Rhydon might not creep nearly as hard.
Will Smack Down be June’s community day attack? Or perhaps many Pokemon will receive the fast move in a movepool shake up? Niantic could even not release it altogether. Only time will tell what’s happening with this new attack.
