Why Do I Still Play Pokemon GO After Almost 10 Years?…
it is said that how many 10-year do you have in your life, like, from age 25 to 75…
and if it is only 5 of them, why spend 1 of them playing Pokemon Go…
Your dedication to grinding pokemon go is insane. Playing while overseas does keep things interesting.
Keep it up champ!
Anybody experiencing a ton of lag recently?
Hello Brandon and Princess! I’ve been playing Pokemon Go for 3 years in March 2023 is when I started. I only started playing everyday recently and found you on YouTube. I appreciate all your shared information. I visited Singapore and found it to be one of the best cities ….so clean and safe. But that was before playing Pokemon. Now that I play…I want to visit and join your group and maybe meet you in person one day. I think you are a very good person. Take care Brandon. Wish you a wonderful life. You so young.
Isn't this the easiest question? It's your job, it pays for your food and roof. Sure you can quit or not enjoy but then you'd have to find a real job
Hello Brandon,
I have been watching your videos for a pretty long time and i enjoyed every single one of them.
What i enjoy about your videos is that you always meet up with new people to make new friends, and to have a great experience together.
I myself began to start playing Pokémon Go in 2018, and you really helped me with your videos to get better at the game.
It would be nice if you would see this because i am just spreading love and positivity.
Have a nice day!!😊
Because you are ambassador. Others wouldnt, unless they are cooked from the brain, addicted to
You are wonderful
You kill it Brandon! Between yourself, Mystic and Pokedaxi commenting on this. Your opening up about it and solutions too the forms of 'burnout' is intriguing, you definately grind like the(if not) the best of them worldwide, and thank you!
Yes love how you mentioned the social aspect! I moved to a new city where I knew no one. And pokemon go community has been how I have met the most friends
I'm already 6 yrs with this games,i'm learns a lots pro n cons about this game..hmmm
Hi Brandon, I've quit PoGo when they made insane changes and I was fed up however long ago but L50 was the max then and I have plenty of exp to level beyond. We are the same type of addictive personality in a way, we stuck on a game and play it to the max for a long time. I first heard about you when someone told me about a crazy Singaporean boy who are top of COC that plays it with multiple ipads and even in the shower. Not sure how true that was but that was the first time and hearing you quit COC and picked up PoGo, I knew you'll go crazy hard with it. I picked up the game not long after that and went hard. It got so bad, I got multiple phones with different accounts so I can raid legendary bosses solo. My friends joke that I was like playing a piano when doing raids with many phones. Inspired by some guy I saw raiding, I custom-made a board for my multiple phones. After countless hours playing and embarrassing amount of $ put into the game, I finally quit when the made changes that were too much. I heard Niantic will sell the game, if that happens, I'll probably pick it up again. But I glad that you're still playing would be there with videos I can refer to for guides if I ever pick it up again
Love your vids, keep it up ❤ From Australia
Ty for the video m8
Can you please do a video on pokemon etiquette while playing pokemon events and raids. Would love to see that! Thank you!
Thanks, Brandon! I appreciate you and Princess and glad you share with us. I think of you every time I work on that berry master badge 😊
Love this video, Brandon. You're an inspiration! (Long time watcher, first time commenter.)
I only play a couple hours a day 1 hour on my way to work and 1 hour on my way home from work. I treat it as a mini Pokémon adventure what I find is what I find. On my days off I play more as long as the weather is nice. It’s winter now so sometimes on my days off I only go spin a pokestop. During the summer I ride my bike around and play a lot more. I tend to only use my free pass and free particles every day. I save up gym coins and buy raid passes and save them for big events. Ive found 20 raid passes is a comfortable number to save up most of the big Pokémon like dia/pal and Zac/zam and w/b kyurem need about 10 each to be sure to get thier special move. So I save up 20 passes and go hard when big Pokémon are out. Otherwise I’m only doing 1 free raid per day. I’m not free to play, I do spend money sometimes but I don’t buy event tickets or go pass deluxe, the only go pass I ever bought was the eternatus one since it gave a bunch of candy and particles and maxMushrooms and other good items. I don’t care about Ivs so I haven’t bought the one with the bottle cap.
I could go on and one but suffice to say i play in moderation and found a comfortable medium in which I’ve never felt burnt out and I still have everything I’m not lacking any Pokémon.
Your game play has changed my life. Keep going Brandon.
I’ve quit this game a few years ago. Simply cus of lost of interest. But I still watch BT91 every now and then
You're completely right about the holo pokestop thing. The sightseer medal is the main reason why i still play the game. Exploring new places never gets boring. Keep up the good content!
I barely got back after 2 years. I missed out on alot but at the same time it keeps me wanting to play and grind again
I hope china unbans pokemon go in the future imagine a city safari in shanghi.
Yo bro, you are inspirational with how you bring take this game above and beyond. You really help show the world how Pogo can really be a real adventure in real life! Please keep up the good work!
I have quit for a period of year and it was healthy 😂 keep it up Brandontan91 & princess ❤
Your demeanor is awesome. Noone has to grind hard, but if you want to, here are some examples! You inspire calm and excellence simultaneously.
I pished forthe 100km day during my level 80 grind, with your inspiration! Better person because of it. Keep it up!
Legit the ONLY reason I come back to this game every once in a while is because of people like you, Billy(TrainerClub), and TrainerTips. You guys bring the community together – the game itself is soooo dry. I just did Kyurem Raid day and it was the lamest experience ever. All the hype leading up to it, I started the day with like 15 local passes, but wasted so much time just throwing Excellent premier balls, waiting for Kyurem to stay inside so I could move to the next raid, which took me like 10-12 minutes to walk to because I had like 4 Reshirams in a row at one point – even though we just had reshiram raids last month. I got 1 shiny in the whole 3 hours with the "boosted shiny rates", yes I know it's 1 in 10 EACH RAID, I don't care.
It just stresses me out – you see what this game does to me? I'm not like this, I'm a chill dude but this game drives me nuts.
Maybe i will take a break again, like you say.
Solid point of view, you seem like a good dude. PS let that kid Jacob take over and make the vid on April Fools Day!
Always positive! I met up with Brandon and Princess with my dogs. It was awesome. I got a few pictures of the community just playing pokemon go including my puppies. The 17+yo passed this summer, but I will have the pictures forever. Thank you.
Gr8 video, i needed this bro thank you
I mean for one thing you monetize off you playing soooo…
its the best mmo and no one knows it not even the players
I keep playing pokemon go despite the fact that pokemon constantly break out on an excellent throw, and then are caught the very next throw with no catch bonus at all
ur my favourite person in the community and i know a lot of other people feel the same way, keep doing what ur doin and have fun
Bc there’s nothing to do in Singapore
I also played for ten years and hope that a good ten more years will come!
Hey Brandon, I've came a long way and learned a lot about this game mostly through you. I'm a day 1 player (7/6/2016) and stopped for about 2 years and have been playing hardcore since returning in summer 2018. I value your trips to Chicago (Beldum Community day and visits to the suburbs) and your commitment for communities, it's great and engaging! Thanks for showcasing things at a hardcore and high level for us all to enjoy this game. One of my favorite videos of yours is your Go Fest 2023 global video showing true hardcore gameplay BrandonTan style with Carlos, I love that as I play hard for that many hours for big events too!
Hi brandon, I've kept up with you since I was a teen when you reached the highest lvl player at the time
during clash of clans when you moved away was even shocking too,
Your commitment to such games for years has always been
inspiring and motivating even when a game is at its bad state,
you still manage to keep up with everything mentally.
Thankyou for the amazing content you still put up through the many years and more!
Only respect, From Italy!!
i would have given up on the game long time ago most likely, maybe around 2019 and reason being that up to that point i had not found a community around the game at all in my area.
but with some luck i got a spot on the now ended EX-Raid feature and had time to attend. i had gotten those before too, but this January one in 2019 was my first ever one i got time to go to.
there i found that our local community was ran through Telegram and thus found a way to take down 3, 4 and 5 star raids too.
This then saw me go from lvl30 to lvl40 within August of that year when getting to lvl30 took me from launch to that January 2019 Ex-raid event.
then the game has been more about the community in general and all that, and now with Campfire the game had gotten even better.
especially since we no longer hide ourself in Telegram groups or something, but the local communities are getting the front and center in the game too.
this then brings out the question just how high does Scopely value Campfire seeing that since the person in command of approving new Community Ambassadors left, no new person has been hired.
so the program has stagnated for over a half a year now. hopefully Scopely understand that the game rises and falls with the community around the game, so the Campfire is a important part of the whole thing keeping the game going.
Greetings from Ireland! I started playing in 2016 but then had to stop for a few years because my phone could no longer handle the app properly and I couldn't upgrade. But when I finally did manage to upgrade it, I returned to the game. I'm just a few great throws away from Level 75, and I love my Go Plus+. Brandon, your videos have been a great help. Thank you!
If I see you in LA I'll thank you in person. You seem so authentic and you've helped me a ton as a new player. Thanks
Love this game not the company tho 😂
Nice video! For me, I feel the burnout much much more if I don't get what I was hunting for or if my RNG was bad. For example, not getting the Dhelmise shiny was bad, only getting 3/40 shiny kyurem on a 1/10 raid day felt salty, and only getting one shiny background Piplup in commday. So I am ok put the work in but I need the wins to show for, otherwise it feels so tiring and a waste of time.
I really appreciated this video – and truly appreciate your comments on mental health and burnout. I feel like anyone who has stuck with the game since 2016 has experienced both feelings of burnout as well as the mental strain of FOMO.
I pressured myself on this game for too long and it eventually led me to take a long break – nearly a year of only occasionally opening the game. Coming back this past summer I now feel very refreshed and play with a completely different mental attitude.
Keep up the good work, Brandon! You have an incredible heart for your fellow trainers. Thank you for all you do 💪🏻
I still play because i meet a couple of nice people and doing events together
