I think the only reason it hasn’t yet is because they let the dust settle a while after releasing shadow Groudon in September.
Now, having just done Black & White Kyurem again, the schedule is pretty full until we reach March and are done with the Kalos Tour.
I’m suspecting, even despite yet another game data push on Mega Mewtwo, that won’t make a surprise addition to Kalos Tour (Mega Mewtwo, as a Pokemon, released in the Kalos games) and will be kept in hold. I think their intention is it will headline Go Fest to celebrate PoGo’s 10th birthday (I don’t see them bringing Arceus for that). With 2 forms, MM will be a good cash injection then to be claiming after 10 years the game is as popular as ever.
They generally like to push something that gets people spending more every 2-3 months (e.g. Mega Rayquaza with it’s Meteorite requirement returned after a year in October, Black & White Kyurem fusions returned after a year last weekend). With all those beasts recently done, I’d like to think we will see that void between Kalos Tour and Go Fest is where they will insert some days for both primals – so my best guess is April/May.
Of course, this is all guesswork. The game gets ever busier with Dmax/Gmax releases, etc., and they still have some other decent mons held in reserve too, so you can’t hold me to it 😜
