A funny story I always like to tell.
Years ago, I went to my second comic book convention (I don't remember where it was now), and as soon as I saw the stand selling Pokémon plushies, I immediately grabbed my favorite starter, Charmander (pretty obvious, I know XD).
When I got to checkout, both a friend of mine and the clerk noticed that the plushie had a manufacturing defect—two left legs (as you can see in the photo). They immediately said, "Exchange Charmander, get a proper one."
I was about to do so, but then I remembered the episode introducing Ash's Charmander. Abandoned by his trainer because he was considered weak.
I looked at the plushie and then said, "No! I won't be like that guy in the anime! I'll take this plushie even if it's poorly sewn!"
I expected applause… But nothing.
Anyway, I'm still proud of my decision to buy it. Because this, too, is Pokémon! Love and respect every creature, even if it appears weak or ugly.
