Unreleased games coming later? That’s pretty cool!
Hummer77x
I guess it’s cool that there’s gonna be unreleased games
GameOnDevin
I’m gonna be honest, this is cool this is here, but I am never going to touch this. With all these news drops they are doing it is pretty clear a Direct is happening soon.
MercilessBlueShell
Thank goodness they have screen color changes planned, but still odd it’s not there at launch.
Personally, I think I’ll stick with that fan-made VB emulator on Nintendo 3DS since it’s a lower barrier to entry, and I still have a working 3DS to experience the visuals with.
lingering-will-6
So we won’t be able to play these in docked mode in 2D?
Lhyster
For the three people in the back.
Now I’m kidding but it is pretty cool to have that also on Switch 1 and 2.

I’m don’t think I’ll be touching this tbh… I don’t see myself buying the Virtual Boy Stand to play it and no virtual boy game really interests me at all.
It’s cool that it’s there but it’s very niche. I have the 3DS emulator of VB games anyways if I’m ever curious about the games but not really. Just have it on my 3DS for if I’m ever curious I guess
Karmah_star
Genuine question, are there any VB games worth playing in the big 2026? I was far too young to be around for this era
devenrc
It’s worth it for Virtual Boy Wario Land
idratherlurk
The unreleased games look great! Having played the entire catalog so far on the 3DS, I have to say the comfort level will be objectively worse. But I like the novelty of having a virtual boy.
MagicBez
I’m the exact kind of idiot who might buy this despite myself but now I have to make a calculation:
Does this thing sell so poorly they end up putting it on heavy discount six months to a year from now allowing me to grab one cheap
Or does thing sell so poorly that they sell the initial batch of pre-orders, never make any more and it ends up costing a ludicrous amount second hand that I’ll never be willing to pay?
…I still regret not buying more Donkey Konga bongo drums when they were on sale dirt cheap back in the day
FUDGEMEHARDxD
One of the features of all time
Brzrkrtwrkr
This confirms you can remove the red lens. I’ll get one now for BotW Switch 2 VR.
SomeElderMillennial
All this and still no Diddy Kong Racing 64
Cats_R_Rats
Im hyped. I love retro games but never had a virtual boy.

The two unreleased games are really interesting! Unlike Star Fox 2, no known prototypes have been found, so this will be the first time these games have ever been playable outside closed doors.
PossMom
They really gotta make it so you can play these in 2D without buying an attachment. Virtual Boy just isn’t worth going out of your way to buy an accessory to play.
NickMalo
Cool
Please give us the GameCube library
UltimateChungus
Honestly I don’t mind this to much considering that two pieces of, previously, lost media will be able to see the light of day
isaelsky21
It’s cool for whoever likes it, but the fact we’ll get releases for this instead of other consoles/handhelds is going to suck when we never got DK Racing and some others. But I guess, Nintendo. I guess.
64scott64
Imma gonna buy this arn’t I?? Goddammit.
Disrespect78
they really drip-feeding the virtual boy 💀
Asd_89
So other than the Japan only games, we are getting the whole library?
BigDreamsandWetOnes
I’ll just use my emulator for my Quest 3
poly_lifestyle
I’d buy this in a heartbeat if they sold the games on a cartridge with the accessory, but tying it to their shitty online subscription is a nonstarter. As soon as you stop paying, your expensive accessory becomes a complete brick. So stupid.
TheLimeyLemmon
The announcement of future feature updates and colour changing mode has me convinced they’re making this playable in 2D on the TV after launch, maybe even at launch.
They want to sell the accessories but realistically that’s still a niche market. The fact we’re even seeing extended gameplay footage in 2D, in very much the presentation of a typical NSO game experience on the TV, suggests the 3D is not the necessity people make it out to be, it’s an enhancement at best.
Trip_Se7ens
There was a game like boot leg time crisis… I used to play inside my cabinets in the kitchen… am I making this up to pass my child hood trauma along lol
