Found my childhood Pokémon tazos collection — were these big in the US too?

I recently found my childhood Pokémon tazos collection.

These were huge where I grew up — pretty much every kid had them.

It got me wondering: were these popular in the US or other Western countries too?

Or was this more of a regional thing?
