I originally came up with the concept for a Light-type Eeveelution which I posted back in good old 2024. This was the original design for it:
I ended up redoing the design entirely, and even now I’m still a little unsatisfied with it.
My hope is to eventually conceptualize an entire Pokémon region based on Tohoku, Japan, and create a wide range of Pokémon models for it.
Luxeon is a Light-type Pokémon and one of Eevee’s many evolved forms. It evolves from Eevee after completing a Trial of Awakening. The Trial of Awakening is a series of challenges that a Trainer must overcome alongside their Eevee, involving a variety of puzzles and battles.
Luxeon is inspired by Cleric / Paladin archetypes from fantasy RPGs. Its name is derived from “Lux”, the Latin word for light, combined with “Eon”, the shared suffix of all Eeveelutions. Due to its holy and radiant nature, it is known as the Virtuous Pokémon.
The Light type would be a new type introduced in the Tohoku-centered region. It is strong against Dark and Ghost types. Resistant to Bug, Dark, Ghost, Psychic, and Light. Weak against Rock, Steel, and Ground. Weak to Grass, Rock, and Ground.
In addition to newly introduced Light-type Pokémon, several previously established Pokémon would also gain the Light typing. These include Pokémon such as Staryu, Starmie, Chinchou, Lanturn, Mareep, Flaaffy, Ampharos, Watchog, Heliolisk, and many more.
Luxeon would also have a counterpart Pokémon: a Ghost-type Eeveelution inspired by Necromancers and Warlocks. I’m hoping to work on that one someday as well!
