Howlfin, a Water starter Pokemon.

I'm designing a Water-type starter Pokémon called Howlfin. The concept is a wolf that hunts and moves through freezing waters and ice floes.

Pokédex description: Its fur is fully water-repellent, allowing it to leave the sea completely dry after a single shake. It spends its days leaping across ice floes to strengthen its hind legs.

Here’s the current sprite. The front/side view works well, but I’m really stuck on the tail design.

I’ve tried:

• Marine mammal flukes
• Dolphin-style fins
• Furry–aquatic hybrids

None of them preserve the wolf silhouette or Arctic predator feel without looking awkward.

What kind of tail do you think would best sell the idea of an Arctic marine wolf?
