Got my shipping confirmation last night! Can’t wait!
Fun story: I remember wanting this so bad for Christmas the year it came out as a kid. We were eating at a Mexican restaurant on Christmas Eve I believe and they had a big foundation. I remember making a wish for a virtual boy and throwing a coin in, haha.

I know this won’t happen but I hope the switch 2 edition of BOTW brings back the VR mode. I always wanted to try it
Oracle_of_Ages
It’s just a holder for the switch 2 like the Labo VR.
Did people think it wouldn’t do vr supported switch games too? The system is the driver.

I didn’t think of trying this, I received the cardboard VB today, I’m downloading BotW NS2E right now and I’ll try it.
Antoshi
I … had no idea you could play either of those games in VR mode.
svartsomsilver
Does that mean that the Labo VR “headset” works for Virtua boy stuff?

Awesome news.Nintendo is cooking.

I remember seeing the original Virtual Boy marked down at Best Buy for $30 after Nintendo abandoned it and I still kick myself for not grabbing one at the time because I didn’t have money in my account for it.

I might have actually purchased this if it included a usable VB controller, like the other NSO releases. Right now it’s just a plastic housing for a cheap lens, the same thing as the mobile phone VR headsets that were popular 10 years ago but can now be found for pennies at every thrift store.
mookbrenner
Is that a tripod for support?
MarcsterS
It was confirmed, then deconfirmed, now confirmed. What mess this whole thing has been.

So if I’m looking at this correctly, the cardboard version has to literally be held to your head? No strap?
Mandrake1771
I rented the OG VB from blockbuster back in like 95, I remember thinking it was pretty cool but never bought it, Tennis was a standout. Is nostalgia enough to buy it now? Gah probably, I hate you Nintendo. Meanwhile my Labo is gathering dust in my basement closet.
PedanticTart
Ngl, that’s pretty cool. Added value for the niche product VB for sure
ThatCurryGuy
So breath of the wild in vr in 60fps in a virtual boy? Count me in:’)
meikaishi
I wonder why no one is offering diy kits, I remember we had lots of those during the times of the Google cardboard VR, and the Switch Labo VR and now the VB are the exact same thing
NiknameOne
Looks like the worst and most overpriced VR headset on the market.
