Ok so I'm replaying Pokemon Emerald and I have half of my team already figured out. My problem is with the other half, because I still have way more Pokemon that I like for the remaining three slots 😭
(I'm kind of thinking Altaria, Hariyama and Linoone?)

Personally I would go with Flygon, Breloom, and either Skarmory or Camerupt, purely based on my tastes and having a nice type spread.
Swampert, Gardevoir, Absol, Skarmory, Breloom, Linoone
Breloom is pretty well covered by the first 3 and adds a nice grass/fighting coverage.
Skarmory is a solid defensive option that further protects from:
flying, poison, ice (breloom)
Grass(swampert)
fighting (for absol)
Steel, poison (gardevoir, if fairy was a thing in emerald)
Last slot is up to you but I’d run Linoone can be awesome here.
Breloom, Linoone, and Skarmory.
Hoenn is literally the Pokédex closest to perfect IMO…6 spots will never be enough!
However, Skitty can kick rocks…
Also, You NEED Altaria and Breloom. With that I think naturally Camerupt becomes the third
Altaria, Breloom, and Linoone. Or if you want steel rep instead of dragon then skarmory
Breloom, Skarmory, and Altaria. I would also teach flamethrower to Altaria for some type coverage and maybe a held item to boost fire damage.
It’s not particularly great that 5 out of the 9 pokémon here have a 4x weakness but going by type coverage you’ll definitely want Skarmory, Breloom has the 4x weakness to Flying type moves but it’s not horrible and it learns Spore, the best sleep status applicator.
I find it’s pointless to have two pokémon with similar typings in the same team unless I’m going for a very specific build. Thusly, you’re going to want the Linoone since Swellow’s out.
Lastly, Hariyama is a solid choice. It’s a pure fighting type so it only has the 2x weakness against flying unlike Breloom’s 4x, is decently tanky, and makes for a decent overall physical attacker.
So, in summary: Skarmory, Linoone, and either Breloom or Hariyama.
Altaria, Hariyama and Linoone.
Flygon, Breloom, Swellow
