Why not release special collection boxes featuring some awesome promos from the past.
Some thoughts that come to mind are:
– a shadowless zard with a 30th stamp
– legendary reverse holos
– cracked ice holos
– an homage to Red and Pikachu

I assume because you think the price of the current ones would tank? That’s not typically how pokemon works. If anything, a reprint makes the original go up because it makes more people interested in buying the OG. Base set charizard has been reprinted a bunch, it has never dropped the price of the original, only made it go up. It maybe occasionally does it in the short term but everything is always volatile in the short term because of speculation like this.

If anything, this would INCREASE the value of the OG illustrators due to more exposure. Look what happened to the reprints of Gold Star Umbreon…the reprint even looks much better due to the Celebrations Umbreon having holo while the POP Series 5 Umbreon does not have any holo. But the POP Series 5 Umbreon has kept climbing in value.
