Introducing Galaegis! Psychic/Steel type.
This pokemon was considered a myth for a long time, until it was discovered by Professor Cedar in the Adiso region. No one had thought to let a Kirlia hold a Metal Coat until that point. She's still very smug about it. Galaegis evolves from female Kirlia when leveled up while holding a Metal Coat.
Galaegis has a psychic shield that floats around its body during combat. This shield is lightweight and bladed on the edges, so it makes for a very effective defensive weapon. However, it takes quite a bit of effort to keep the shield floating, and so when Galaegis sleeps, or while it is traveling, it will carry the shield in its hands. The bladed edge will not cut Galaegis's flesh, so it is completely safe for it to do so.
Galaegis like to do what's called a Shields Dance, which is a graceful set of movements that also act as an exercise of sorts, heightening its focus and allowing it to carry heavier burdens for longer. To a human observer, it looks an awful lot like ballet.
Abilities: Battle Armor, Sturdy, Magic Guard (Hidden Ability)
Signature Move: Shields Dance – Steel type, Status, targets self. Sharply raises Defense.
