Death Howl – excellent strategy game

If you're into strategy you will absolutely love this game. Easily game of the year material. Mind you, it's not easy, and it will put you on your toes. But it is incredible gratifying when you manage to succeed.

Haven’t heard of this. Art style and vibe are very cool.

Been playing this one. It’s so good. Deckbuilder with tactical grid combat. Let’s go.

Oh nice forgot about this one, didn’t know it was out already

  4. Waiting for my copy to come in, I tried the demo on steam and was a big fan! It’s reminded me of Into the Breach for people who like that game, except I personally enjoyed a lot of the mechanics and aesthetics in Death Howl even more.

Lowkey I think the marketing of calling it this indie soulslike deckbuilder does it a disservice considering how many people probably gloss over games with those sort of buzzwords at this point. Hopefully it gets on more people’s radar with this wider release.

If anyone with experience playing the game could chime in with their impression on the difficulty level I’d appreciate it! I’ve played difficult-ish tactics games like ItB, shogun showdown, and Tactics Ogre and been fine but I bounce hard off souls likes. Since this is advertised as souls-like I’m curious if that is just a buzzword and the difficulty is typical for tactical games or not. Thank you!

My god this is right up my alley. Thank you.

Woah this looks sick. Love deck building and into the breach so I’ll probably pick this up

Looks cool but so goofy to call something like this a soulslike

Played this to completion. Excellent game, about 30 hours. Really enjoyed the boss fights and gauntlets (esp the final level), the trash fights become a bit repetitive once you get enough cards in a region to trivially dispatch them but are pretty cool before that. A little buggy but I think they already worked out some of those. Highly recommended.
