Honestly I would choose Magikarp on any route 1 you have almost a guaranteed chance of catching a Pokemon with a normal pokeball and once you evolve Magikarp you get a hell of a upgrade if we're doing this in the old games then we could just use switch training although I do admit I'm going to have a tougher start as soon as that Magikarp evolves into Gyarados I'm going to be moving now if we're talking about the new games where all of our Pokemon gets XP then I would just use my route 1 Pokemon and fight over and over training both my route 1 Pokemon and Magikarp

True but vigoroth is pretty good and slaking is decent with the right strat, zubat is better tho

Choosing zubat everytime. Slaking sucks. Maybe it’s second evo vigoroth with eviolite. But likely picking zubat for crobat.
