I actually skipped all the cutscenes just to get into the card battles asap lol.
Then after a few battles of enjoyable gameplay, I restarted the whole game and watched the cutscenes to fully enjoy it.
Card battles
Fun mechanics. Took a couple of tries, but once it clicked, it's great. Figuring out how to maximize damage when attacking enemies and seeing the numbers balloon feels like getting high scores.
Art
I like the nice clean character art. My only gripe is the "rough draft" look in certain cutscene keyarts. The art is too good to keep it looking like that, especially for the mechs!
Music/Sound
I found myself humming the tracks long after playing. The full voice acting for cutscenes is a huge plus too.
Story
Has that Saturday morning cartoon, queer space opera vibe. The world might be ending, but you never truly feel like the characters are in depressive peril. Lovable, quirky cast.
Minor nitpicks:
- Text size for card mechanics is way too small.
- Had a few crashes during battles.

I played quite a bit of it, but didn’t finish it. It’s fun, but my big issue with it is that it feels like it was supposed to be a roguelike deckbuilder, not a game with a campaign. Various mechs have cool synergies with each other, but you can’t really control which ones you actually get, since every one you have access to is always in your deck. Recruiting new characters often feels actively bad, because you’re diluting the cards in your deck and making it harder to assemble combos.
