  1. Looks a whole lot better than the previous titles. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  2. Novalith_Raven

Looks interesting. I hope we get more details soonish!

  3. Looks very beautiful!

2027 is a surprise to me, though – I had this down for this year.

  4. ConfectionAcademic35

I wanted to see a water cat starter but these are cute too

  5. Pretend_Education_86

Fool me once, fool me twice. Okay, you got me yet again.

  6. MalleBeeb

Was expecting a November 2026 release, but I’m glad they are forgoing that in favour of more development time

Looks great, but the 2027 really surprised me. Leaves the door open for 3D Mario to be the big game this year.

  8. Parallel_Falchion

Is this the longest wait between generations? 2022-2027?

  9. PhatYeeter

If this is 2027, curious what Nintendo’s holiday lineup will look like this year

  10. Luigifan10

    Pombon is already my favorite

2027 release is kinda surprising but a relief that the games aren’t being rushed out like before

new starters look great, environment looks like more effort has been put in. Good stuff

  12. complex_personas

Fire Pomeranian!!! Haven’t been this excited for a Pom since Tokyo Jungle!!

Thank god it’s 2027 and Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. Give the devs some time to breathe and focus on one platform. I am hopefully optimistic that it might be optimized when it releases.

    Now, my question is :
Is there any nintendo switch 2 limited edition to order alongside the games?

  15. Niels4all

Glad to see that Toby Fox is a starter now

  16. Not gonna lie you had me at first half, i thought it was a pikachu spin off game

  17. gosukhaos

If that actually means there’s underwater exploration this may be the best out of all the open world Pokemon games so far. Looks great though, really good variety of biomes

    >**Pokemon Waves Version**

    >**7.8/10** *-* Good

    >**Cons** – Too much water

hope they finally add some damn voice acting or ditch the cutscenes where people talk, you can’t have mute cutscenes lol.

  20. PLEASE let tropius have some love this is the perfect region for it

  21. 2027 release and switch 2 exclusive is a HUGE win for me personally.

This allows more development time and optimization, without last gen power and performance limitations.

    New starters are neat.

LOVED the biomes. Dense forests and some pretty water scenes. Very very cool.

  22. MumboBumbo64

Looks super good, I’m cautiously optimistic lmao

“Mom, can I have a Rowlet?”

“No, we have Rowlet at home.”

  24. cosmoskid1919

Looks similar to some of the environments in the New Pokemon Snap

  25. Espurreyes

MY GOAT WAILORD IS BACK AND HE LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL 🥹

  26. dixie12oz

Not saying it’s cutting edge graphics but it finally looks almost modern which is a big deal for this franchise. Give it some voice acting and it may finally feel like a modern game.

  27. OK_Commodor64

We’ve got competition for best waves against the legend Wave Race 64! Who will win?

  28. Digitarch

    So are we in agreement?

    Wi/Wa, pronounced ‘wee-wah’?

My take here that I’m sharing from a comment I wrote on r/Games is that this **finally** looks like the Pokemon game I’ve been waiting for since almost two decades ago: **an actually detailed open world adventure** (Pokemon’s anime spoiled me with how much bigger and livelier it was compared to the games).

Scarlet and Violet was closer than before to this dream game of mine, but it was too undetailed and barren, and not to mention buggy as fuck and run like ass. While Wind and Waves’ lack of bugginess is to still be determined, the game at least looks like a fleshed-out open world in terms of detail and environmental fittingness of the Pokemon (finally Pokemon Snap doesn’t have to carry this aspect of the games and we can actually get it mainline) and the water/wind physics looks like it runs smooth.

Between this and Pokopia looking great, I’m actually excited for a Pokemon game for the first time ever!

  30. Looks great, I feel like it’s too soon for another water lizard though. Gecqua does look adorable but we just had sobble/inteleon.

  31. ClaspedDread

Wow it actually looks good! At least compared to Scarlet and Violet. That 2 FPS windmill still haunts me.

But I’m actually more shocked about the 2027 release date. I was not expecting that at all, and I’m happy to see they are spending some real time on this game.

Am I actually…looking forward to a new pokemon generation again?? It’s been so long.

  32. Dreams180

Is that hinting at **underwater exploration??**
