Pokemon Masters EX – Normal Towers Floors 21-29 (feat. Anniversary Juliana)

I’m playing Pokemon Masters, a mobile gacha game set on the island of Pasio. Collect many Pokemon waifus and husbandos and participate in unique battles involving sync pairs.

I did not expect to get Anniversary (Anni) Juliana from the Paid-Gem Scout 25x. At the time of recording and uploading this, the only people who have Anni Julianna are people who got lucky with this banner, because her official banner releases a March 2nd. Because I got her early, it is my solemn duty to showcase her in a video. And what better showcase than absolutely crushing Normal Towers.

Unfortunately, I did not do commentary like I normally do because I’m unable to make voice recordings right now. I will do post commentary at a later date, but simply put, Anni Juliana just clears. While upgrading her to 5/5 is pretty high investment, it results in not needing high investments on your other characters. Initially, I planned on using 3/5 Variety Chase, 5/5 Lounge Penny, 5/5 Elaine, and 3/5 Academy Gladion. With Julianna, I was able to save a ton of gems by not scouting for Chase and Gladion, and I also save a candy by not needing to upgrade Elaine to 5/5 copies.

At 3/5 copies, Anni Juliana can dish out a ton of damage by applying Normal and Stellar Rebuff on the enemies. She also reduces the sync move countdown by a lot from her sync move and tera move, which helps get her to her Stellar form. At 3/5, you can only summon Normal Zone twice, so you have to really plans things out.

At 5/5 copies, she summons an additional Normal Zone (I don’t count the one she cast at the start of the battle because it’s useless at the start) from her tera move, making her super potent as a support character. Her trainer move is also very busted as it greatly boost her next sync move.

For the support cast, I was surprised how good Elaine is. She is a Pokefair and had great flinching along with good survivability. Mai is the other good tank option, but she is EX Pokefair, making her stronger but harder to get. Elaine really needs to be at 4/5 copies to be consistent with flinching, but thankfully it seems like I don’t need to upgrade her to 5/5.

Standard Hugh is a beast. His move damage sucks, and his flinching sometimes griefs the fight, but his sync move does great damage as a standard character. I’m literally 98/100 friendship points with Penny (after being at 89 and using her gold items today), but Penny’s Eevee probably is better than Hugh. Despite that, I want to release the video as soon as possible, so I had to just use Hugh. I even upgraded him to level 200, because he really deserves it.

I rounded out my roster with Gym Scout Whitney. I really just needed someone to provide a bit of extra support. If you have Chase, Larry, or Mai, those characters would probably be better.

I will make a commentary video soon talking about certain floors. I haven’t done floor 30 yet, but I think I’ll be fine. Stay tuned for that.
