Ok so I know that shinies aren't guaranteed with a ticket. But honestly I don't care. I went into this event looking forward to a chill grind with friends, maybe getting some rarer shinies and just expanding my main collection. I didn't expect to play for 7 hours and get 2 shinies. One I already had, one isn't even that rare, but was one of my hunts and so I won't complain too much. But I played for 7 hours in the rain, walked almost 20km (with incense and eggs going the whole time) and caught ~500 pokemon, checking countless more. Never would I have expected to get only 2 shinies.
I appreciate that it was my choice to buy the ticket and my choice to play the event even in the substandard weather but honestly I just want to rant about how unlucky this must be.
This obviously wasn't everyone's experience, but I just felt like I could have had easily more than 2 shinies if I just did a 7 hour grind on any day of the week.
I play this game for fun, and maybe it's time I put it away for a bit. I had fun grinding XP, playing with friends and getting cool pokemon while it lasted but now it's just not fun when these things happen.
I'm hoping for a better Day 2 and wishing all you guys the best of luck for your Day 1/2! (even if I had to watch one of my friends get back to back shiny background yveltals while having nothing 4 hours into the event)
