Before buying FR or LG I was wondering if anybody checked this information.
Do pokemon transferred to Home keep their metadata (place of encounter)?
I included a reference picture to show what I mean. Specifically the data in the red box.
In pokemon Home it is possible to check this (only on the Phone not on switch) and see where each pokemon was caught starting from Kalos (X/Y).
Everything before that says Pokeporter … which is the dumbest thing Nintendo has ever done. As far as I remember, pokemon transferred from yellow and crystal on 3DS also lose their metadata.
I am in the habbit of breeding/catching my pokemon in the right place to kind of create a story. For example – Umbreon from the Altar of the Moon (moon ball), Kanto Marowak from the Ruins of Life and Alola Marowak from the Ruins of Conflict. Stuff like this. Now I don't know if anybody remembers but these kind of information got deleted by the pokeporter.
I don't understand how pokemon as the biggest franchise is unable to keep this data stored as it is one of the ONLY things that make our pokemon unique. The matching ball, the place of encounter (probably also the date) and now the marks …
Especially nowadays where you can max IVs, correct Nature and hidden ability with one click. Where breeding offers no real value anymore.
Honestly, our starters should also get a mark of their own. Who even remembers them really after they disappear in a Box/Home when we have a shiny new version of it.
Anyways I hope maybe somebody can enlighten me.
