Postcards from a 30-year-old-journey

Hi guys, I'm a bit late but I read it isn't possible to post art on weekends, I couldn't crosspost so here I am with my tribute for 30th pokèmon anniversary 😀

I've drawn these illustrations for video game page on Instagram. I wanted to share them here too!

The message is the journey, so with each region the protagonist is a step ahead in his adventure: we start from the first town in Kanto and we reach the endgame with gen 9.

I hope this will bring good old memories to everyone, and that you may live those feelings through these images. Doesn't matter where your journey started and how long you've been playing it. We are all connected by a journey.

For some of us there's maybe just a single, significant journey, for many others of us the journey is still going on, and we're growing up with each adventure that comes to an end.

Feel free to comment here and share your best memories about your own journey as a trainer to celebrate this important birthday together. It doesn't matter which problems the brand may have in these days, today it's just about love for our beloved mons. Happy Bday, Pokémon!

Wow I loooooove these!! I appreciate that you captured locations and scenes from the games that are well known but not overly represented by official marketing. I also really like your art style!

It’s like a more peaceful version of the Pokémon Generations shorts. I love it!

    Cute.

Although, personally, for Gen IV, I would have shown the protagonist looking at Mount Coronet from Snowpoint City.

I really love the Hoenn one – at first I was thinking hey there’s nowhere that’s snowy in Hoenn

I absolutely LOVE the Hoenn one, you really captured the exact vibe I had while biking through the ashy landscapes on my Gameboy back in the day. Both stunning and nostalgic, wow, I want a print haha!

Oh my god I didn’t realize we were slowly progressing through the game (starting pallet town in Kanto and endgame by the time we reach Paldea). This is amazing, and I love the message in the Ruins of Alph (at least what I could read of it) and that it connects back to the message you were going for
