From profoundly unserious to locks tf in

Lu Bu is one of my favorite characters, so even though Halbird doesn’t look like a pokemon, let me indulge myself with this. I also kept up with Browt’s awful name, perhaps you have better suggestions?

  3. mandiblesmooch

Not every berd with a halberd has to be blue.

  4. RainonCooper

If Browt evolves into a Lu Bu rooster or cockatrice I don’t give a flying fuck about my dislike for bipedal Pokémon nor my “starter is not on the main team” rules

Incredible design, I wish actual anthropomorphic pokemon were designed this well, they make them way too thin lately. Yours has a much better shape, plus the palette is really pleasing.

  6. UchihaYagura

Grass/Steel would be a cool typing
And I like your take on the tribal warrior theme!

  7. Nice-Tell-1572

Stop making good fakemon! Now pokemon can never put them in games! /s

Grass/Steel’s not a suggestion I’ve heard before; beyond that, I don’t think we’ve had a Grass/Steel starter. Regardless, these are super cool designs!

  9. EpsilonX029

Halbird is good enough of a pun that I like it lol

Gods DAMN that is sick! Best starter evo I’ve seen for this guy so far!

  11. Impressive-Time8150

Ppl really want big buff bird bois, huh?

  12. Sharkivore

As much as I don’t want another Bipedal, Humanoid-esque evolution…

    Holy SHIT this goes hard

    Do NOT pursue Lu Bird

    Unpopular opinion:

[As an Austronesian person, the indigenous people of Maritime Southeast Asia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austronesian_peoples), I don’t want any of the starters from [a game based on Maritime Southeast Asia ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Winds_and_Waves)to turn into East Asian Pokémon with East Asian themes.

The game itself seems to focus on travelling between isles; a trait known for [Austronesians as the earliest prehistoric seafarers](https://historyguild.org/what-is-the-austronesian-expansion/) and [one of the earliest people to travel the globe](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enrique_of_Malacca).

We Southeast Asians have been erased from media so much that even in[ Raya the Last Dragon](https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/27/entertainment/raya-dragon-asian-trnd/index.html), which was supposed to be about Southeast Asians, only focused on Mainland Southeast Asian themes, not Maritime Southeast Asia, and most of the VAs were East Asian, not Southeast Asians.

[Not just because East Asians look down on Southeast Asians, calling us Jungle Asians](https://hackerella.com/jungle-asian/), we [Southeast Asians have a distinct and unique culture](https://www.holidify.com/pages/culture-of-south-east-asia-5258.html), and we should be enough not to be erased and turned into East Asian archetypes just because Westerners can’t tell the difference between us. Having said that, we do reclaim our Jungle-Asianess.

Sorry for the bad grammar: English is not my first language.

    Grass/Steel

Pombom is going to melt bro

  15. hexman0000

i imagine a gf employee seeing this and immediately turning to their design department to tell them that since all the good designs had been guessed by fans they need to make brot’s line as dogshit as possible

  16. Lavacat5

I love this design but I feel like the final evolution would be a better box legendary pokemon

  17. IDreamOfAbsolvement

the final evolution feels way too far off to possibly be pertained to Browt’s line, but still a very good attempt at trying to work out what a grass/steel evolution would actually be, since that’s the type fans are speculating on rn

  18. TheOptimist6

    TOUGH!

If this was the final design, it would be firmly in my top ten favorite Pokémon of all time! Incredible

Halbirdand blaziken would make for a powerhouse duo!
