I didn't think a couple of months ago that I'd be spending 120 on a mobile game, but after one of my friends started playing it again around a month and a half ago I've been grinding this game out like crazy.
Long story short, I saw this event and knew that it was a chance for me to get some good mons, especially because some of my favorite legendaries (Groudon and Origin Forme Dialga) were coming back so I went ahead and bought a ton of coins to stack up.
For anyone who doesn't want to read my yap below and just wants a quick summary, here's what I got:
- Two articunos (no background)
- One shadow ho-oh (no background)
- One shadow lugia (no background)
- 17 Groudons (2 with background, one shiny)
- 11 Kyogres (4 with background, one shiny)
- One Palkia (Shiny)
- Eight Origin Palkias (2 with Spacial Rend and background, 3 with just spacial rend, one shiny)
- 20 Origin Dialgas (3 with Roar of Time and background, 2 with just background, 3 with just roar of time)
- 22 Kyurems (2 shinies with white background and glaciate, 1 shiny with glaciate, 2 normal shinies, 1 with white background and glaciate, 3 with white background, 3 with black background, 4 with glaciate)
- 5 Zekroms (1 with white background)
- 4 Reshirams (None of them had anything specialš¢)
- Hoopa Unbound from the Deluxe Pass
- Two Garchomps (Both with background)
- One Metagross
- Two Salamences (One with background)
- Two Tyranitars
- Two Sceptiles (One of them was hundo)
- One Yveltal
- Two Latios's
- Two Hawluchas
- One shiny Froakie
- One shiny Chikorita
- One shiny dmax Chansey
- 38 costume Pikachus (Which aren't even that important, but I just wanted to keep them because I had extra storage space. Got one with the dialga background.)
- A piplup with 67 CP
- Tons of solid iv pokemon – 96% Lucario from the free pass, 96% Swampert, 3-star shadow greninja, one 93% tyranitar, one 91% blastoise, and probably more that I'm just forgetting.
I also got my marshadow from special research and some really solid mons for pvp so that's cool.
Looking back on it, I really wish I didn't use as many tickets as I did on Origin Dialga. I had no idea what my luck was going to be but I was hoping so hard just for one shiny, and I thought I was in luck after I got a Shiny Palkia and an Origin Palkia (background and spacial rend) back to back as my first 2 raids on Thursday. Then my luck just disappeared for the day and I never ended up getting it. Groudon was a similar case but I was trying to get both the background AND the shiny. After I talked to a couple of other people who were raiding I realized that I might never get it (Yes I knew someone who used over 81 and did not even get a single shiny groudon) so I just accepted that I shouldn't use all of my tickets there and that I'd rather trade with someone later.
For those of you that wondered why I got almost nothing from the first two days (the bird trio and ho-oh/lugia) it's simply because I didn't really want them. They're just not my favorite (personal preference – don't attack me) and as far as I'm aware there are better choices for raids and PvP.
Hopefully everyone else had a great raid experience. Me personally, I was a little bummed out at first that I didn't get the perfect Origin Dialga or Groudon but I can't complain when I got so much, especially the Kyurems. Definitely an event for me to remember (and for my wallet to cry about!)
