Originally painted for the 30th anniversary. Drawing humans is quite difficult, especially with all those different coloured sections of the clothing. Wet on wet watercolours have a tiny time frame where the sodt gradients can be achieved. If it's too wet, the entire section gets coloured, with now white spots left. If it's to dry, the colour won't spread at all. I still had a lot of fun studying Sugimori's early works.
