I noticed that in the Happening Now section that the official name for the event specifies Kanto, which differs from the official announcements. Anyone else feel like they might be planning similar events for all gens over the course of this year?

Pokemon company did say they’d celebrate the anniversary all year so maybe this is part of it? I could see that. Initially I thought it was just gonna be FRLG ports then winds and waves in October or November but obviously that isn’t happening anymore.
We can only confirm or discredit this theory when event details for April are announced.
The announcement usually comes out the last week of March.
Edit: Though if Niantic plans to celebrate the other regions throughout the year , why have the “all out” event on 7 to 9 march where pokemon from all regions will spawn?
this weekend is “30th anniversary: all out” so maybe its to differentiate between those
