These Pokemon are descendants of the ancient Spinosaurus. Over millions of years, the Charizard has abandoned the semiaquatic lifestyle, and now is fully terrestrial. The Charizard has also left behind the sail, but there is a remnant of it, on the end of its tail. The adults use wing like appendages on their sides to attract mates, using the vibrant blue color to do so.
