The other youtubers don't report spotlight being removed because they only play the gotour,gofest and gowild events which niantic pays for them to hang around wasting money on them they don't play normal events and most of them no where close to level 80 despite them making money off the game.
Like how they just quietly stopped giving us stickers for comm days and now it's for everything…unless you pay!
We can take gyms with legendaries and mythicals. We should be able to defend gyms with them. At the very least mythical should be allowed since alot of them are low IV research rewards and/or have no practical use other than filling the Pokedex. Melmetal and Metan are mythical and allowed in the gyms already. I'd much rather take a gym from a maxed out Celebi than a maxed out Blissey
I don't care about spotlight hour. I haven't played it in ages. The shiny chance isn't boosted. I can see the benefits of 2xtransfer candy & stardust. But its not a draw for me.
I actually lucked out with the super short showcase that ended tuesday at 12pm compared to the typical showcases that run over days. I don't understand the xxs pokemon & im not clogging up my bag with them either.

First they nerf Pokemon spawn rate at normal days and when we all wait for spotlight hour for huge spawn, they remove it because the new season means new changes 🤡

Can’t see any reason at all why we can’t have a spotlight hour and a showcase on the same day
Meltan and Melmetal are considered mythical pokemon. They can be dropped into gyms, and they don't seem to be giving people any trouble. Sure, some of them might be "more difficult", but gym defenders don't get the massive buff raid bosses do, and once that motivation starts dropping (which you know it will fairly quickly), they're going to become even easier. Really is no reason to not allow them.
That said, I don't want to see gyms full of legendaries. So, if anything, they could limit it so only the first slot can be a legendary/mythical. Wanna take the gym? You gotta get past the bouncer. 🙂

Once you are in a showcase, you can switch which pokemon you have in there remotely. It isn’t spoofing it is a feature.
I've had my Prof Pikachu since 28th July 2024….I don't see any reason why they should sacrifice Spotlight hours in favour of Showcases, we can have both as before🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️…Dumb decision on their part….
Yo, I name all my pokemon thru Poke Gene, and it uses special characters. I opened my game today and none of my Pokémon have the name that they had before I can’t see their IVs just by looking at their name now WTF?

Since the last update none of my catch mons have worked. They're going to force everyone to use their in-game catchmon and charge it by the minute or hour
I was out playing the other day around the spotlight hour time and wondered why there weren’t a ton of spawns for one Pokemon like there normally is, was very confused and didn’t know why there wasn’t a spotlight going on lol
The stardust and transfer candy was the only reason I'd play Spotlight Hour. It would be great to be able to throw away all the useless XXL's in my binder!
The gym system is already a big enough chore…I don't wanna grind through 6 legendaries just to try and get some coins. The only way I'll even consider them now is if all the mon's are one hit KO's.
Just greedy. Spotlight hour and showcases have nothing to do with each other. Spotlight hour is everywhere while showcases are just at some pokestops. It's like pretending to give something back as they take away something good. Here's your crumbs, and we are gonna take back that holiday bonus. Fairs fair!

I think Spotlight hours will be back when they see people logged in at that time drop drastically. We could maybe even hold a Pokemon Go hold out on Tuesday nights to make a point.
What they could have done to reach the goal is to have both spotlight hour and showcases starting on Tuesday ending on Wednesday and the showcases match up with the type from that week's spotlight hour. This would encourage participation in both.
Bullshit, spotlight hour was great, screw giving us fewer contests in return.

There is no way to know where a shiny Pokemon is. Shiny odds are calculated at time of encounter. The commenter your referring to might have been talking about hundos? Those can be hunted, because IV's are the same for two separate players (although does depend on trainer level). It's not just a cheater thing, some community discords will have channels to call hundo locations. That's a legit strategy.
The legendariies would demotivate quick and be easy to take out after like, 4 hours. But, it would encourage berry feeding for the off chance at the candy drop.
I will miss the 2X Evolution event. Not compatible with Community Day. But was a way to churn +600,000 XP in an hour, for those that need it.

Maybe they're trying to cut down the xp firehose. I can't say how many millions of xp I got on spotlight hour. I will miss it.
Scopely will do anything to get you to spend cash. free stuff and anything that benefits players will get less and less and paywall tickets will increase.
Getting rid of Spotlight Hours and symbols are HUGE mistakes and need to be fixed ASAP!

I’m mad about it, because, where I live, the spawns were amazing, you could catch over a hundred in an hour, and then trade them with a mate to get luckies… now… oh we can’t do that…. Great. Just great.
