I’ve been experimenting with a little Pokémon-inspired project recently and thought some of you might enjoy it. 🙂
I took the full art cards from the Scarlet & Violet 151 set featuring Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard and tried turning them into layered wooden wall art.
One thing I really like about these three cards is that they actually tell a small story in the same location, starting with Charmander sitting near the cliff and ending with Charizard flying over the same place. That made them perfect for displaying together as a set.
Each piece is made from 3 mm poplar plywood, built from 7 layers, and the final size is about 25 × 18 cm.
All the layers were individually designed and prepared by me. No downloadable templates were used. The trickiest part was figuring out how to split the artwork into layers so it would still look natural in 3D.
This was my first attempt at turning Pokémon card artwork into layered wall pieces, so I’d love to hear what you think.
And I’m curious, which Pokémon card would you love to see turned into something like this? 🙂
