From the coast the players move through a large cave network towards the desert.
Like many cave staples these first few cave encounters will appear throughout the cave and have good potential to annoy the player. Oscuric is the first of these a Poison/Dark tick with good HP and otherwise middling stats. When it evolves to Engorgic it receives a big boost to its bulk which it uses with regenerator or corrosion to wear down the opposition.
Charat is a bomb-inspired Fire type mouse with high speed and an early evolve level. It evolves into Charbrat, an obnoxious Fire/Flying type with usable Speed and Attack and the great abilities of Flame Body and Unburder. This is one of my favorite sprites in the whole set!
Last for this part 1 is the single stage Electric type Wattugg. This fakemon hangs from cave ceilings and paralyzes any unsuspecting prey that walk below it. Its main role in the dex is to be the Electric Surge vehicle, with Suction Cups as a thematic secondary ability.
