Today, while talking with some friends we talked about our weird catches in our collection, and I may have the weirdest of them all.
During GoFest Paris 2025 I catched 2 Hawlucha with the same stats (yeah they are nundo) but the weirdest thing is everything about them is the same : weight, hight, CPs, IVs etc .. except their gender. I got them back to back, since I remember deleting a lot of pokemon and those two were neighbors in my collection (sorted by date of catch).
I also remember catching a lot with my Go+ but also manually catching some specific spawns for the candies I needed the most. Hawlucha was on my list.
So. The question is more complicated than that.
If we eliminate the weird odds where I would have encounter two Nundos back to back, with the same sizes and everything. Does it mean it is achievable to catch a pokémon both manually and with the go+ at the same time?
If this is true, that means there is a brief period of time that could be targeted to double your catch?
And finally the weirdest one: I could understand all the duplication, same stats, size etc… Since they are "visible" during the catch screen. The game knows what it gives you when you click on the pokémon, it shows you their CPs (Wich means their stats and IVs are already fixed) and some of their attributes (size, by showing you "it's huge!" For exemple) but their gender two since you can see the difference on the pokémon (Magikarp moustache for example) so why would it change during this glitch?
The impact of this discovery may need some research, and I don't really know if it could be made. To duplicate this experience we will need to search for a time gate that could be really hard to calculate with precision. Also we don't know if it was due to a time change (hourly spawns) or a zone change (GoFest having differents areas, did it impact the game to change area while catching a mon)
