I finally caught the shiny Ditto with the hat in Pokémon GO, and I genuinely thought this was going to be the moment I got one of the rare special background Pokémon… but of course, my luck had other plans. No background at all.

This Pokémon GO event has been full of shiny hunting, rare spawns, and special event bonuses, and one of the biggest talking points right now is the new background feature. Certain Pokémon can spawn with unique backgrounds, making them even rarer than normal shinies, and honestly, that’s what I was hoping for with this shiny Ditto.

I’ve been grinding Pokémon GO consistently, checking every spawn, catching everything, and trying to maximise my chances at both shiny Pokémon and these rare background variants. Getting the shiny Ditto with the hat is already a big win, especially during this limited-time event, but missing out on the background just makes it feel like I was so close to something even rarer.
