The game has been super buggy and annoying lately too 🙁
This is by design. They want to keep you playing. They want to hinder your progress as much as possible because the more you play and the longer it takes you to get something you want the more likely you'll give them money.
If they want to force a 12 hour power spot spawn, maybe make it let you be able to earn extra particles every couple hours and the den allows you to battle it for a daily limit. This would allow F4p players to be able keep playing wherever they are or for players to have a reliant grind method😊
Totally agree Brandon. Lots of power spots on Monday. But I could only see 1-2 power spots within my area today, Tuesday. They better fix it.
It is very difficult cuz there are only 3-4 at a time in my city but on max Monday there’s 15-17 which is cool but no specific time that ppl are there to help me battle
Removing tuesday spotlight hour is the worst possible change. It was a nice time to relax after work and grind gor shiny and candy xl of some useful mon
Showcase tuesday doesnt even make sense for me becoz in my area there are never any showcases 😢

I want spotlight hour back. It was the one thing I looked forward to each week.
Also I wish they would not allow someone to kick your pokemon out of a gym the moment you take over that gym. Like it should be for example 1 hour after you take over the gym, people can battle and kick you out I struggle to earn the 50 coins as I’m booted within minutes. Even in the gyms not close to built up areas. It’s annoying.

so FOR ME MY OPINION i feel like this update is horrendous …. i already have my PHD pika but i still did showcases for xp and items , having it just on tuesday ALL DAY when i work does not help me even attend those showcases , those help people who dont work or stream for a living, i went from alwayds being in the top 3 to now not even placing a pokemon in a showcase , now with powerspots i feel the same as brandon , i have found myself catching anything i can for dynamax just so at the end of the day i have something new that i can power up their moves so i atleast can get around 12-18k xp for powering them up but than i lose out on catching hundo and shiny dynamax pokemon … this season is not cooking at all

As someone who just hit Level 76 right as the new system hit, this is a terrible system… I pretty much have to use particle packs if I want to get it done in a reasonable time, cause I cannot find power spots for the life of me from tuesday to sunday…
As an Ambassador, its a decent change, cause I can host for a couple hours and consistently have the featured spawns, whenever I want during the day rather than just 6-7

I live next to a power spot, but got the do 100 max battles task, on paper it isn't bad, but Falincks as the max battle pokemon is tedious
This new schedule SUCKS for all of it! I can't get out everyday, so now I can't even do showcases and other things. I hope this is temporary and they put it all back the way it was before.
I noticed less power stops near the end of the week. Some disappear that have been there since they were first placed
I understand him completely. Living in a small town, we need all the firepower we can get.
I can't believe they've removed Spotlight hours. That to me is the BIGGEST let down they've ever made.
It’s simple why this has happened. Niantic had to make the game interesting to get players out and playing because they had an ulterior motive of collecting data for their real purpose. That’s why they put time and effort into it, only on the areas they cared about of course. Scopely DO NOT CARE. they’ve made it a set schedule because it’s easier to program what’s happening and let it sit without much leg work because it’s the same thing every single week. They’ve removed most of the things that made FTP viable because they can’t implement ads or ad incentives to give you stuff/cooldowns/items etc. so instead they implement things that would slow down progression to make you spend more because you’re now having to work twice as hard and spend twice (at least) as much resources to get an outcome that would’ve been much easier this time last year. The new season is literally Scopely in a nutshell.
There is something wrong with your math –
If i collect 300 MP from walking and than fight 4 spots and collect another 300 MP, I'll get 1080MP but I'll spend 1000 MP on the fighting. If there is a mon that you like, fine. In the end of the day you are left with 80MP.
I recommend collecting 300MP twice, fighting once and than collect 300 more. That will leave you in the end of the day with 780 unused MP to do as you like.
I will say if this new system doesn't land well Niantic/Scopely will probably redo it. It may take until next season but something like this seems like something they would adjust. Hopefully spotlight hours come back as they were a great candy farm. I'm guessing that they just got tired of people blasting their social media pages when they don't get shinys. Which they shouldn't expect as there is no shiny boost and sometimes the spotlight hour pokemon doesn't even have the shiny released but that doesn't stop people from freaking out.

Honestly, this just feels like FOMO design. Limiting both the time and resources makes it hard to actually enjoy the event at your own pace. With only 800 free MP a day, you basically can’t fully participate unless you spend money. It doesn’t feel like a natural system—it feels like you’re being pushed to pay.
THE REAL ISSUE: Power Spots are only around for one day.
From what I can tell, there are almost as many new dynamax locations spawning each day as we had before, but instead of sticking around for 2 or 3 days, they're gone after one. Meaning: there aren't even half as many power spots active in any area. If you beat one yesterday, you can't collect particles from it today, it's gone. If you don't have enough particles to challenge a spot today, too bad, it won't be there tomorrow. This makes it harder to find power spots to collect particles, and limits your options for which dynamax pokémon you want to challenge; Especially with the weekly featured pokémon taking up 2/3 of the power spots. It's a real problem if you don't want the featured pokémon, or worse yet, you can't beat it solo. With dynamax locations only lasting one day, you won't get much help from the pokémon stationed there. Unless groups came through earlier and they left enough pokémon (not everyone stations pokémon), your only option is to hope there's another player doing dynamax in that location, at that time, with any interest in catching that pokémon… in which case I hope they have enough particles. Plus, if you do win, and station a pokémon, it has less time to assist others and earn candy. All around a downgrade in every possible way.
Niantic/Scopely is not the least concerned with players concerns They dont have to . Too many players waste money on this game. More money than sense. The game has seen its better days. The future is bleak.
Showcases are horrible too. I can not get to the town on Tuesdays so no more showcases for me 🙁

I never dynamax shiny hunt, finding shinys in normal Pokemon is difficult enough
This isn't what Niantic wants to hear but collecting particles from power spots should be the same as gmax weekend events. 800 particles in 1 power spot. You only need to spin 1 gym to get a free raid pass, you should only have to get to 1 power spot to claim the limit
I'm on level 76 trying to do 100 max battles. This change is making it take so much longer.
We need the old amount of power spots back, and more variety. We shouldn't be waiting 3-5 months for a Dmax Squirtle to come back.
i waste mine all the time cause i could careless about useless pokemon filling my inventory even if they can be shiny, so i skip most dynamax raids, such a waste of space for useless pokemon.
