I'm playing Pokemon platinum for the first time, and I read a lot and picked piplup this time, I've also tried turtwig, neither are great for my play style 🤣 I love the dual types for the starters but I am just not happy with my team. I maybe should have chosen chimchar just based on the lack of fire types but I don't wanna restart the game just yet. What would you recommend? Currently I'm looking for a psychic type that I like, I've always played with kadabra so I wanna do something different. I just caught a giraffig, stats aren't great but I love that it can learn dark, psychic and elec type moves. Gardevoir seems a popular choice but I don't like that it only learns psychic moves, galade is cool but doesn't learn enough psychic types but love the idea of psychic and fighting. I've played with espeon in the past but felt like 2 attacks would knock it out. Do y'all have any other recommendations? Or am I missing something major? I'm kind of trying to play with new Pokemon I haven't used a lot (excluding luxray just cause I think he's cool).
My main team so far is luxray(elec, dark) priplup(water, flying) houndoom (dark, fire), staraptor(flying), and gabite(ground and dragon moves). I also have giraffig and quagsire I'm debating if I wanna switch in. My team is full of holes right now and I'd like to switch it up, unfortunately I realized that I mainly have dark types and flying types moves right now
