Just piggybacking here, how do you get the cells? I am returning from a decent amount of time off

Don’t believe some of these other posts, it’s normally 300. Unless you have a research task that allows you to claim cells, you can obtain a maximum of 300 by encountering the cells at the end of routes 👍

The limit was originally 250, but then there was a Timed Research available that had Zygarde cells as a reward, but a lot of players couldn’t complete that task because they were already at the limit of 250 and the game just refused to let you claim it.
I know some people changed their Zygarde back to 50% form, then back to Complete form to use up 200 cells so they could finish the timed research.
But Niantic also raised the limit to 300 before the Timed Research ended, so other players could finish the research as well.
They later fixed it so that you could still claim cells from research even if you were at the limit, so that’s why some players have 400 out of 300 cells.
