Recommended Pokemon:
Lycanroc, Sceptile, Liepard, Houndoom, Dusclops, Cryogonal
All Pokemon should be maxed level (100 or 120).
In this battle, Giovanni’s first move is “The Ultimate Power!” which immediately maxes his team’s Attack and Special Attack as well as a Critical Hit ratio by 2. This is a good opportunity to use Liepard’s move Snatch, which takes the stats of the targeted Pokemon. The best is to use it on Mewtwo, especially before its sync move.
If you do not own Liepard:
Brycen’s Pokemon Cryogonal is also a good matchup at the beginning of the battle. The move Haze removes status changes on the enemy team. If you do not own Liepard, use Cryogonal at the beginning. Both my teammates were ready and switch immediately out (it is random co-op online, so both parties didn’t know who would use Haze first which is okay).

Target first
– Lunatone
Lunatone is able to use Blizzard, so it’s best to target it first to prevent any freezing of your team’s Pokemon. Solrock should be targeted next.
Target second
– Solrock
This Pokemon is able to rock tomb, which lowers speed. The only thing to note is that if Mewtwo’s HP is low, then the enemy will heal it with potion. Once its HP is almost halfway, Solrock will use Earthquake and eventually Explosion. Be careful with Explosion when facing Solrock.
Target last
– Mewtwo:
At this point, Giovanni will use Sync move: World Domination Psystrike. “You’re in Trouble Now” raises both attack and special attack by 6 with an accuracy by 2. Be ready to switch into Cryogonal to use Haze or Liepard to Snatch the stat boost. Giovanni will next use attack moves after the stat boost such as Psychic, Thunder, Fire Blast and Blizzard as seen in the video. Take him out by attacking together before he wipes the rest of your team. Enjoy the video, and good luck!
