Starting December 17th, Virizion is taking over the raid scene in Pokemon GO. This Virizion Raid Guide will help you choose the best options for this fight. Virizion is another member of the Swords of Justice. As such, it is a Fighting-type Pokemon. Virizion’s secondary Grass-type makes it doubly weak to Flying-type attacks. So while Psystrike Mewtwo will be a solid option for this fight, Moltres, Rayquaza, Honchkrow, and Unfezant will be the prefered options with their doubly Flying movesets. Virizion does carry Stone Edge which is something the birds aren’t too happy about, so you may want to keep your Mewtwo’s close. Overall, this fight it definitely for the birds!
As far as Virizion’s use in the meta goes, it stands out pretty well in the Ultra League. In the Ultra League, Virizion functions similar to other Fighting-types but is able to handle Water-type Pokemon better. I wouldn’t power up one for the Ultra League now, but you may want to keep Virizion in mind as the GO Battle League approaches.
