The Fusion Cup is the flavor of the month for the Silph Arena in Pokemon GO. The focus on this particular cup is saving stardust. The meta is focused on multi-type Pokemon with less than 75k dust to unlock charge moves, along with a ban list that features many “near level 40” type Pokemon. As a result, we have a meta that resembles the Open Great League while not quite being the Open Great League. So rev up your Altaria and Whiscash, and get ready for the Fusion Cup Meta!
In this video I will be covering the best overall picks for the Fusion Cup. The main groups to keep in mind are Flying, Mud, Fire, Steel, Ice/Fairy, and Grass. While Ice/Fairy-types can soft counter the Mud Bois (Whiscash) they don’t do the job that consistently. If you don’t want to get swept by the Whiscash it is highly advised to bring a Grass-type Pokemon! Altaria also shows up as a top pick, but it is fairly easily managed.
