Started the year off with some computer trouble — had to take both my desktop and laptop into the shop for new hard drives, then a couple days after I got my desktop set back up it randomly stopped connecting to the wifi, thus locking me out of both Premiere and Reason. It’s back online now so I wanted to go ahead and put something out today to celebrate being able to do music and videos again, and I’ve been playing a decent amount of pokegacha, so… here we are.
I usually use trackers when I want to do authentic-sounding chiptunes, but this time I decided to mix things up and do a remix with soundfonts BUT with the project set up to simulate some of the NES 2A03 chip’s limits (disabling polyphony on each instrument, building the arrangement around a max of 2 square channels + 1 tri + noise, etc).
And then I added GBC drums because why not.
Part of me wants to port this to famitracker, touch up the arrangement, maybe expand it to VRC6, but I’ve got other stuff I’m supposed to be working on so I probably shouldn’t spend too much longer on this thing.
