Venom Drench is surprisingly good for debuffs. James helps with getting that first turn poison (funnily enough he missed, but Leaf got the poison anyway). Leaf tries to get as many special defense drops as possible. You don’t want to stick around for too long because you don’t want to let him build syncs. Once we get -6 atk/spatk/spd, we’re done.
The next phase is basically just trying to accumulate as many syncs as possible without dying. The more Potion refreshes the better. Blastoise lets Empoleon get to +6 spatk and +3 crit, and he’s also the best tank.
Even if you don’t get a single Potion MP Refresh, this strategy still works. I’ll probably play around with other debuff teams and maybe find an actual F2P debuff strat.
