Having just recently bought a switch I was really disappointed in the severely slow download speeds I was getting when installing games. But then I remembered that the PS4 also had bad download times no matter how fast your internet was. I tried the fix on my Switch and my download time for Splatoon 2 went from 8 hours remaining to 2 hours remaining.
Your mileage may vary, but basically the fix is to set up an HTTP proxy on your computer and then connect your switch to the proxy you set up. Doing so seems to greatly increase the speed of downloads. I do not believe that this fix will help with general in game connection speed. I chose CCProxy as that was the proxy used in the guide I followed [Here.](https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/game/speed-up-ps4-downloads-3676770/) Just follow the steps on the guide but navigate to the Switch internet settings to implement the changes.
I hope that this fix helps some of you who may be installing MH:Rise tonight! Just a reminder, after you download the game you have to set your switch’s proxy settings back to automatic or else you can’t connect to the internet without CCProxy being open on your computer.
