I bought my switch on march 3rd 2017 with Zelda Breath of the Wild. I now have around 50 games. Some I think were a really good deal, others I can’t get into. The other day I thought to find out how my playtime is shared among all of these games (the only way I thought to do this was by opening up each game and checking the approx playtime on my profile).

I live in the UK so prices are in GBP. You can occasionally find some good physical prices on amazon or some good digital prices using online price checkers. I usually dont like spending money so I’m always very conscious about how much I get out of the games I buy. I occasionally find a good deal on lesser-known games and a lot of these are pretty neat and I would recommenced them. My top recommended non-nintendo games are:
Hollow Knight (£10.99) – best value on the Switch. If you like exploring, smooth combat, cryptic stories, this game is for you. No point waiting for sale. Team Cherry makes it cheap enough.
Hades (£22.49) – Not usually into rogue types but this game is really easy to get into. It has a good progression system and good challenges as well as a story you explore at your own pace.
Bug Fables (£26.99)- A paper mario style game that I honestly enjoyed more than Oragami King. It has a great story, good humour, interesting worlds and gameplay and numerous side quests.
Castle Crashers (£9. 99 sale)- A funny, easy-to-play side-scrolling beat-em-up thats really fun with couch co-op and lots of characters to level up.
Typoman (£5.99 sale) – A stick figure going through a world of word-association puzzles. Really clever game.
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 (£9.99 sale) – I have too many hours on this. Addicting game with lots of content and levels and challenges to try.
Ultimate Chicken Horse (£5.00 sale) – A party game where everyone adds an item to the obstacle course every round. Ive had a lot of fun with this and its fun even for people playing it for the first time.
Shovel Knight (£20 in year 1) – Bought this on 3DS then on Switch and they kept adding more free DLC. The DLC adds 3 more campaigns in total and each has their own move-set and variation on the world. The game can be difficult sometimes but its got great levels and bosses.
I’ve added my full list (with playtimes and comments on the games) if anyone is interested. Feel free to ask about any of the games listed:

Edit: Thanks u/ColwynBane for the suggestion. This chart looks much cleaner and you still get the idea. Set the cut-off for other at 20hrs otherwise it looked really weird each other way.
