Metacritic critic/user reviews do they mean anything/matter?

I ask because I see some big critic/user review score differences here are some examples. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore the critics love it but the users are not very thrilled with it in comparison: https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/tokyo-mirage-sessions-fe-encore. Or you get the opposite case such as SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated critics are not so hot on it but users love it in comparison:https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/spongebob-squarepants-battle-for-bikini-bottom—rehydrated. Other times their are multi console games that are 100% the same that get such huge user score differences examples Blade Strangers Switch vs PS4: https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/blade-strangers and https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/blade-strangers. It makes no sense see what I mean. Although some do make sense such as Bloodstained ROTN Switch getting objectively worse critic/user scores compared to other versions do to how bad the Switch port is of it sucking Blood! https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night
