List of all Wii U Virtual Console games we’ll lose

**UPDATE: Now includes 3DS Virtual Console titles, as well as condensed mobile-friendly versions of the spreadsheets.**

I compiled a list of every NA Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console game, complete with eShop prices, physical media prices, and whether or not a re-release on modern hardware exists.

**Wii U:** By my count, there are 154 Virtual Console games **(51% of the total library)** that do not have a re-release on non-retro hardware (for example, if there was an NES release and a PSX release, the PSX release was not counted as a re-release. Or if the only rerelease was on PSP, it was not counted as “modern hardware”).

Another 69 titles **(22% of the total library)** that will only be available through physical mini-console releases(i.e. NES Classic Edition) or will only be available on Nintendo Switch Online.

**3DS:**

89 games **(46% of the entire library)** are not available elsewhere on modern hardware, and 16 additional games (**8%, for a total of 54% of entire library**) either have:

* Ports of alternate version (NES or Arcade cabinet), but not original version emulated through VC
* Are Gamegear ports on Gamecube media, which is compatible with the Wii U via modification
* Have an updated/remade version available on modern hardware (not just a strict HD remake)

29 games **(15% of the entire library)** are only available on Nintendo Switch Online or a physical mini-console (i.e. NES Classic Edition), with no way to buy a copy on modern hardware.

**Note that there are rumors that Gameboy and Gameboy Color titles, which comprise a large portion of the 3DS VC titles which will no longer be available, may be added to NSO soon.**

Physical prices are sourced from the Loose Cartridge price on [pricecharting.com](https://pricecharting.com). If there were multiple releases of a game, the original cartridge being emulated was used (i.e. if there was an NES and GBA release, and the Virtual Console version was the NES version, the NES version’s price was used).

Hopefully this will help maximize your $ and chose what to buy. I’ll be making a similar list for the 3DS eShop as soon as I have the time to make it.
