3 Unfortuitous 9 units shut down Latias (Legendary Gauntlet 2) [Pokemon Masters EX]

0:00 – Burgh / Ethan / Lyra
3:59 – Oak / EX Bianca / Sawyer
7:42 – Lillie / Lisia / Falkner

I did an all Unfortuitous run for Latias before (https://youtu.be/-StsHgKfF10), but those teams weren’t really Gauntlet-friendly, in that it’d be better to spread out the Unfortuitous users instead of using them all in one team. I decided to highlight the three Unfortuitous 9 units here, as they alone can already bypass Latias’s Fluid Fortification – though they of course appreciate having another debuffer on the team if they need to use other moves.

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:
Team 1: Burgh / Ethan / Lyra – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10112000000&e1=1&o1=738&g1=AAECAwQFBgkKDRAREhMWGRsn&s1=5&id2=10170000000&e2=0&o2=750&g2=AAECAwQFBgkMDxESFBUYGRscHSA=&s2=5&id3=10002000000&e3=1&o3=738&g3=AAECAwQFBggLDhAREhMVGBocHyIl&s3=5

I found it weird that Burgh’s Unfortuitous 9 is with Silver Wind instead of Bug Buzz considering the latter is the one that debuffs, but it’s actually a blessing that it’s in the 2-gauge move instead of the 3-gauge one haha. The self-omnibuffs also help in keeping him healthy. Lyra brings her sun here since it won’t do any good in Moltres, and Ethan is the main damage-dealer with Eruption.

Team 2: Oak / EX Bianca / Sawyer – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10102000000&e1=1&o1=738&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKFRgZHB0e&s1=5&id2=10137000000&e2=0&o2=750&g2=AAECAwQFBgsNGx0fISIjJicp&s2=5&id3=10068010000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFGRocHiAjJCYpLC8=&s3=3

I already featured Oak in the F2P video, and this is a bit similar in that it features a Synchro Healer keeping the team healthy. This one is more offensively-oriented, with Sawyer providing offensive buffs and Bianca being the main damage dealer. While Bianca is also an Unfortuitous user, hers is only Unfortuitous 3, which makes it less reliable in spamming debuffs.

(I got Weird Shield on Bianca to help her tank the sync better, but I think I should’ve gotten Stored Power MGR and/or Precognition instead since I was facing gauge issues in the latter half.)

Team 3: Lillie / Lisia / Falkner – https://pokemon-masters-stuff.github.io/#/team-builder/?id1=10215000000&e1=0&o1=750&g1=AAECAwQFFRwdHh8gIiMkJyot&s1=5&id2=10118000000&e2=0&o2=750&g2=AAECAwQFBhMUFRYYGhweISIlJw==&s2=5&id3=10150000000&e3=0&o3=750&g3=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0gJSYnKA==&s3=1

This stage was made for Lillie, as her kit counters a lot of what Latias throws at you. X Accuracy All counters Mud Slap and the Evasion buffs, her Fairy typing is useful for two-thirds of the match, and of course Unfortuitous 9 on Disarming Voice gives her a good way of deterring Fluid Fortification. But like I said above, since Lillie has a lot to do here besides debuffing, she appreciates having another debuffer on the team to pick up the slack, and that comes in the form of Lisia and her Moonblast OAR 1 procs. Lisia is also SE against both of Latias’ weaknesses, which makes her a perfect choice here. Falkner completes the team as Lisia needs full offensive buffs to work, and he gets the tanking role to relieve Lillie of the pressure.

(I was initially tanking with Lillie in previous attempts using different teams, and she would be KOed in the second bar, which makes the third bar very hard to work with. Using her as an off-tank is much easier, as she can focus on debuffing rather than healing herself up all the time.
