5 2022 Tech units enable some Sinnoh Champion Stadium clears (Week 90) [Pokemon Masters EX]

0:00 – Vs. Lucian: SC Ingo / EX Gladion / Hilbert
2:04 – Vs. Aaron: EX Anniversary Raihan / EX May / EX Ingo
4:42 – Vs. Flint: Tech Gyarados / Misty / EX SC Jasmine
7:14 – Vs. Bertha: EX Palentines Marnie / EX Raihan / Jasmine
9:42 – Vs. Cynthia: Lucas / EX Cyrus / SS Leaf

I noticed that there were several new Tech units that had positive matchups in Champion Stadium this week, so I wanted to use them in a run. With this year’s units being all about field effects – even extending to Support and Strike pairs – it’s expected that this clear will have a lot of them, which makes sense as there are several stages this week that almost need them.

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Vs. Lucian: SC Ingo / EX Gladion / Hilbert – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=010801061700&s0=1&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=0&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFRobHB0jJCUmJyg&v1=011900077300&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=0&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFBggLDhAVGBklLi8&v2=002000050300&s2=5&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=0&t2=4444&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDRARExocHyIk

This week’s a really nice demo of Gladion’s utility, as there are three stages weak to relatively rare types, with one of them even preferring physical moves out of a primarily special type. SC Ingo enables Gladion with his Bug Zone and Defense debuffs, and he also helps with damage thanks to Quick Attack. Hilbert completes the team with his fast offensive buffs.

Vs. Aaron: EX Anniversary Raihan / EX May / EX Ingo – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=025701033000&s0=3&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=0&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQFBgcICQsMDxUYGSAv&v1=012600026000&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13016303&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFBgcREhMVFiMkJicoKSorLQ&v2=010800053000&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=0&t2=4411&g2=AAECAwQFBhocHyEiIyYpKy0

Finally got to use Mudkip after locking myself out of using her in the early-game Pokemon clear haha. Anni Raihan can enable a lot of teams, but here he enables a sand team with Ingo as the tank. The SE Up Next from his trainer move also lets May secure the KO on the sidemon. Also got to use that unlucky poison proc to my advantage at the end, as the extra time let me charge the gauge for Earth Power.

Vs. Flint: Tech Gyarados / Misty / EX SC Jasmine – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=0&v1=011000012100&s1=5&l1=140&r1=3&p1=0&a1=0&t1=4411&g1=AAECAwQFBggLDhkaHB4hJC4v&v2=011301079700&s2=5&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=0&t2=44111&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDhATFhkmKSs

Yes, I’m treating Tech Gyarados on the same level as all these limited Tech units haha. Rain enables Misty to turn into a pseudo-Striker, with SC Jasmine completing all of her buffs. DripDrip’s flinches help relieve some pressure off of SC Jasmine, as even if most of the moves here are special, they hit quite hard.

Vs. Bertha: EX Palentines Marnie / EX Raihan / Jasmine – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=024502030300&s0=2&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=44444&g0=AAECAwQFBggJCgsNDxITFBYX&v1=025700088400&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=44141&g1=AAECAwQFBgkKDREUFxkaGy4v&v2=011300020800&s2=5&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=13010602&t2=41111&g2=AAECAwQFBgcICgsMDxAREhUaHB8h

Enemy Bertha’s sand lasts until her own sync thanks to all the Sand Alert passives, which Raihan takes advantage of with his multipliers. PalMarnie’s here to boost his damage even further with Steel Zone, which he does need with this clear being off-type. Jasmine completes the team as a sand tank, though she goes down earlier than intended.

Vs. Cynthia: Lucas / EX Cyrus / SS Leaf – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=016200048300&s0=2&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=0&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQFBggLDA0PFRYXGxwdHiMkJigr&v1=019401048400&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=0&t1=4411&g1=AAECAwQFBwoNDhARFBcaMDEzNDU&v2=001710000300&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=0&t2=4411&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDQ4PGh0gIyQn

Another Zone-based off-type clear, though this one’s much easier thanks to the Lucas and Cyrus tandem. I’m kinda surprised at how effective running them together is, but then again Lucas feels like he was built with dual-strike in mind. SS Leaf is the tank not only because she shuts down Acute Senses 4, but she combines her poison with potential Sp Def debuffs.
